- Visually inspect the
cable connections between the computer, the router and/or switch,
and the service connection pigtail. The computer, router and/or
switch should all have lighted LED’s
indicating connectivity. If any device with an LED is not lit,
ensure all cables are secured and plugged in.
- Ensure Motorola transformer is powered on indicated
by a lighted LED, the network cable from the antenna is plugged
into the pig-tail, and the pigtail is plugged into the Internet
or WAN port of your router, switch, or computer.
- If you disconnect
the AC pigtail from power or the service connection cable to
the antenna, you must allow 2 minutes for the service connection
to be restored. During this 2 minute period, our radio must reacquire
an RF connection to our tower site and then re-establish an IP
network connection. Once these connections have been established,
then reset your router. Your router will reacquire a new IP address
within 30 seconds. Then reboot your computer or simply request
a new IP address to re-establish internet service.
- Many connectivity
issues are related to network IP addressing. The most common
method of address assignment is by DHCP address assignment. HST
supports DHCP addressing and will assign a network address directly
to your router or computer. If you have a router, first reset
power to the router for at least 10 seconds. After the router
has rebooted, then restart your computer. This simple procedure
will reassign an IP address to your router on the HST network
and then your computer thus restoring your internet connection.
The order in which you reset your router and then reboot your
computer is very important to the success of the IP address assignment
and thus restoring service.
If you are unable to restore service by following the steps
above, please contact us at 210.892.4478 so we may be notified
